The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need for high-performance, resilient healthcare solutions worldwide. RFID technology contributes strongly to that by providing products for seamlessly tracking and tracing pharmaceutical items on a unit-of-use basis. DoseID, an industry consortium for the use of RFID technology in the healthcare and pharmaceutical space certifies RFID inlays for tracking of pharmaceuticals.

 

PragmatIC Semiconductor (Cambridge, UK), a world leader in flexible electronics, is working on an Innovate UK, Manufacturing Made Smarter project to increase the quality of plastic recyclate. In the project, code-named SORTIT, packaging will be given unique digital IDs to facilitate the tracking and separation of packaging waste in a materials recovery facility (MRF).

 

Wiliot, a sensing as a service company and Internet of Things (IoT) technology leader whose self-powered, stamp-sized computer is intended to change the relationship between manufacturers and their products, recently received $200M in a Series C funding round led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2.
