Innovative design with new lighting elements – First creative workshop of COPT.CENTRE and IHK Cologne

Designers make beautiful and esthetic products. Organic light diodes as light sources are extremely flat and deliver a cozy, glare-free light. This is reason enough to ask, how organic light diodes (OLEDs) can contribute to esthetic products. Questions like these were addressed at the first creative workshop hosted by the COPT.CENTRE, an organic electronics research facility in Cologne, Germany, and the IHK Cologne, the local Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

Groundbreaking for new Novaled premises in Dresden: Samsung invests €20M

The construction work for the new company headquarters of Novaled GmbH are about to start in the north of Dresden, Germany, with the symbolic first groundbreaking. In the next few months, an old mill, a listed monument, will be renovated and converted into a prestigious office building on the 10 200m² site.

CSEM and Sefar develop low-cost technology for large-area OLEDs

Developing a low-cost, efficient method of increasing the attractiveness of OLEDs for lighting poses a significant challenge. Thanks to a CTI project, the micro- and nanotechnology R&D centre CSEM and Sefar AG (both from Switzerland) have succeeded in designing a promising state-of-the-art way of achieving this aim. This technology is reported to open up new opportunities for applications in residential, professional lighting segments, as well as consumer electronics.
