QuirkLogic drives innovation through remote collaboration

QuirkLogic (Calgary, Alberta, Canada), a provider of mobile digital writing devices with cloud-based collaboration functions, recently announced Quilla Connect, a companion app for the Quilla digital writing solution. Quilla enables meeting participants to contribute to collaboration and ideation sessions no matter their location. Quilla Connect extends and enables the engagement for those who are remote by allowing them to use any Android 7 based tablet, smartphone or Chromebook, to connect to the Quilla ecosystem through a secured cloud service. With improved access through mobile devices, organisations can spontaneously source and develop ideas from both employees and partners working collaboratively.

OLED microdisplays are reported to be an ideal solution for AR and VR applications (photo: Fraunhofer FEP)

Fraunhofer FEP: Electron beam patterning for high-resolution full-colour OLED displays

OLED microdisplays are increasingly establishing themselves in consumer-ready wearables and data glasses. In order to meet the requirements for higher efficiency, higher contrast, and higher resolutions in these applications, Fraunhofer FEP (Dresden, Germany) scientists have developed a new micropatterning approach for OLEDs on silicon substrates. This might eliminate the use of colour filters and shadow masks in the future and allow full-colour displays to be developed by means of a new process. An increase in efficiency and considerably broader colour gamut have already been demonstrated in first experiments. The results will be presented at the Fraunhofer FEP booth and during the poster session at IMID 2018 in Busan, South Korea, on 29-31 August 2018.
