Oxford PV, a leader in the field of perovskite solar cells, announced a new consortium to further demonstrate the manufacturability of perovskite-silicon tandem solar cells. The project has received €2.8M from the German Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy as part of its wider investment programme into renewable energy development. The consortium led by Oxford PV additionally comprises VON ARDENNE GmbH, Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin, Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems, and the Technical University of Berlin.
Imec (Leuven, Belgium), a leading research hub in nanoelectronics, energy and digital technology, within the partnership of EnergyVille, recently announced a record result for its 4-terminal perovskite/silicon tandem photovoltaic cell. With a power conversion efficiency of 27.1 percent, the new imec tandem cell beats the most efficient standalone silicon solar cell. Further careful engineering of the Perovskite material will bring efficiencies over 30% in reach.
Oxford PV, a leader in the field of perovskite solar cells based in the UK, recently announced a new, certified, world record for its perovskite based solar cell.
