In 2013, CYNORA GmbH, a provider of singlet harvesting technology for use in OLEDs based in Bruchsal, Germany, had won the “Falling Walls Science Start-up of the Year” award. This year, Dr Tobias Grab, CEO of CYNORA, has been appointed as a member of the panel for the Falling Walls Conference, which takes place from 8 to 9 November in Berlin.
Plastic Logic Ltd, experts in the development and industrialisation of flexible organic electronics with headquarters in Cambridge, UK, has won the OLED Innovation Excellence award for its truly flexible AMOLED display technology.
The Japanese technology companies Innovation Network Corporation of Japan (INCJ), Japan Display Inc. (JDI), Sony Corporation and Panasonic Corporation recently announced that they have executed a definitive agreement to establish a new company named JOLED Inc. to integrate Sony and Panasonic's R&D functions for OLED display panels. Through this collaboration, the companies aim to accelerate the development and early commercialisation of OLED display panels. JOLED is scheduled to be launched in January 2015, subject to receipt of any necessary approvals.
