Universal Display Corporation (Ewing, New Jersey), enabling energy-efficient displays and lighting with its UniversalPHOLED technology and materials, has signed a long-term OLED material supply and license agreements with Samsung Display, a global display manufacturing leader. These agreements affirm that Universal Display Corporation will continue to supply its proprietary UniversalPHOLED phosphorescent OLED materials and technology to Samsung Display for use in its OLED displays. The agreements are scheduled to run through 31 December 2027, and may be extended for an additional two-year period. Financial terms of the agreements have not been disclosed.
Pixelligent Technologies LLC (Baltimore, Maryland) has secured $38 million in non-dilutive growth capital backed by its intellectual property portfolio. The capital was provided by a funding vehicle managed by MVolution Partners LLC and facilitated by insurance and valuation services provided by Aon. This additional growth capital brings the company’s total funding in this round to over $45 million, including equity capital from its strategic and financial shareholders.
Within the project secureAR (funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research), a cross-industry and open cloud-based service platform with open industry interfaces is being developed. Within secureAR, the Fraunhofer Institute for Organic Electronics, Electron Beam and Plasma Technology FEP (Dresden, Germany) is researching a novel hardware platform that is used in an innovative AR assistance system for the location- and situation-specific provision and visualisation of data in different industrial scenarios. This hardware platform will be presented at electronica 2022, from 15-18 November 2022, in Munich, Germany, at the Fraunhofer joint booth B4.258, in Hall B4.
