Heliatek (Dresden, Germany) has won the 2020 OE-A competition in the category: “Best Publicly Funded Project Demonstrator”. The award honours an innovative integration solution for façades using Heliatek’s organic solar films. A record of more than 20 applications from international companies were submitted and the OE-A selected the organic solar pioneer as one of three winners. This year’s competition was digital due to the cancelation of the LOPEC trade fair, the host event where the winners are usually being awarded.
From automotive to healthcare and everything in between: Companies and institutes from all around the globe submitted their latest products and demonstrators in the area of organic and printed electronics to the OE-A Competition 2020. Annually organised by OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association), a working group within VDMA, this competition challenges the printed electronics industry.
The news came Friday in the late afternoon: “Due to the increasing spread of COVID19 in Europe and based on the recommendation of the Bavarian State Government for trade fairs, Messe München feels compelled to cancel LOPEC in responsibility for the health of exhibitors and visitors,” stated a tweet by the organisers of the leading event for organic and printed electronics, which was scheduled to take place from 24-26 March.
