PI-SCALE, a pilot line for the manufacture and system-level integration of flexible OLEDs into products, recently announced Eduardo Camarena as the winner of its design competition, for his proposal of a wearable fitness device, ‘Goal Colour’. As the winner, Camarena will receive a cash prize of €2000, and his winning design will be turned into a prototype model with the help of technical experts.
The Fraunhofer Institute for Organic Electronics, Electron Beam and Plasma Technology FEP (Dresden, Germany), a provider of research and development services for all coating technologies, will be presenting research advances in the area of high-rate coating at the 2018 FLEX conference in Monterey, USA from 12-15 February 2018.
VR glasses are increasingly popular, but they have usually been heavy and oversized – until now. Large-area microdisplays are expected to change that, because they make it possible to produce ergonomic and lightweight VR glasses. The new OLED displays now reach very high frame rates and achieve extremely high resolutions with “extended full HD”.
