The VTT Technichal Research Centre of Finland has appointed Kari Mäki as research professor in smart energy systems. Mäki has worked with energy systems at VTT since 2010. Before that, he held various positions in industry and at the Tampere University of Technology.
AGC (Asahi Glass; Tokyo, Japan), a leading producer of flat glass, has entered into a strategic development agreement with Ubiquitous Energy (Silicon Valley, California), an innovator in transparent solar technology. The collaboration will focus on the development of Ubiquitous Energy’s transparent and neutral solar coating to create windows that produce electricity.
