The cooperation between Coatema Coating Machinery (Dormagen, Germany) and temicon (Dortmund, Germany) has revealed a brand-new R2R-Nanoimprint line. The new line allows nanoimprinting of seamless structures on rolled products up to the width of 300mmfor various applications.
With support from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), technology development partners Fraunhofer Institute for Organic Electronics, Electron Beam and Plasma Technology FEP (Dresden, Germany), SCHOTT AG (Mainz, Germany), VON ARDENNE GmbH (Dresden, Germany) and tesa SE (Norderstedt, Germany) have been developing new applications for ultra-thin glass on roll since 2013 in the research consortium KONFEKT.
The Dutch, Belgian and German R&D partnership Solliance announces the demonstration of an industrially-applicable roll-to-roll process for the production of solar cells, achieving a record 12,6% conversion efficiency on cell level. This breakthrough result paves the way towards an accelerated market introduction of this attractive new source of renewable energy.
