Merck KGaA, a leading company for innovative healthcare, life science and performance materials based in Darmstadt, Germany, has announced that it is acquiring the remaining stake in Qlight Nanotech Ltd. (Jerusalem, Israel), and will hold 100% of the company. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Poly-Ink, a French-based company which develops and commercialises carbon nanotubes (CNT) and silver nanowires-based transparent and conductive materials to be printed and/or coated on various substrates, has come up with a new solution to substitute indium tin oxide (ITO). Nanowire-based material combined with crystal micro fibrils (MFC) creates Poly-Ink’s so-called PolyBioWire, which is reported to offer performances that are identical or better than ITO.
Norwegian-based Thin Film Electronics ASA, a leader in the development and commercialisation of printed electronics and smart systems, has announced a private placement in the company, in which several US funds have subscribed for shares. The total investment sum ranges at USD 22M. Upon completion of the private placement, the investors will hold 6.1% of the shares of Thinfilm.
