Norwegian-based Thin Film Electronics ASA, a leader in the development and commercialisation of printed electronics and smart systems, has announced a private placement in the company, in which several US funds have subscribed for shares. The total investment sum ranges at USD 22M. Upon completion of the private placement, the investors will hold 6.1% of the shares of Thinfilm.
BeBop Sensors, Inc., a leading provider of smart fabric sensor technology based in Berkeley (CA), USA, has received the 2015 Frost & Sullivan North American Technology Innovation Award for its fabric sensor technology. The prize is handed out by the American-based industry consultancy and market research experts of Frost & Sullivan.
The members of the Organic Electronics Association (OE-A; a working group of the VDMA) have appointed Dr Jeremy Burroughes from British-based CDT Ltd as their new chairman of the board of directors during the annual general assembly in Milan, Italy. Prof Toshihide Kamata of AIST, Japan, and Stan Farnsworth of NovaCentrix Corp., USA, have been confirmed in their positions as vice chairman Asia and North America respectively. Jaap Lombaers from Holst Centre in The Netherlands has been elected as new vice chairman Europe.
