DuPont Teijin Films, a UK-based, polyester film-producing joint venture between DuPont and Teijin Limited, has been recognised with the Technical Development Materials Award at the IDTechEx Printed Electronics Conference and Tradeshow 2015 in Berlin, Germany. The award was given for the most significant technical development over the last 24 months in the material development field.
For the German pavilion at the EXPO 2015 in Milano, Italy, architects have found new ways to incorporate photovoltaics. The building is the first big international architecture project, which uses new products based on organic photovoltaic technology (OPV). In contrast to conventional solar modules, the flexible, foil-integrated OPV modules by German-based BELECTRIC OPV GmbH can be integrated easily into the innovative architectural design.
Enfucell, a leading customised battery supplier to the printed electronics industry based in Finland, has come up with a SoftBattery powered wireless golf sensor patch in a joint project with a leading technology company. The patch is attached to a golf club head for measuring the acceleration and angular velocity. The acquired data is transferred via low energy Bluetooth (BLE) to an application on a mobile device.
