The US Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker has presented the intelligent sensing company PakSense, Inc., based in Boise (ID), USA, with the President’s “E” Award for Exports at a ceremony in Washington, DC. The President’s “E” Award is the highest recognition any US entity can receive for making a significant contribution to the expansion of US exports.
LG Innotek , part of the Korean consumer electronics corporation LG, has introduced an under glass fingerprint sensor module. By placing the finger on the cover glass of the phone, it identifies the fingerprint. This module provides the freedom of a smartphone design and even enhances the function, for example, by being waterproof or offering protection from scratches.
Gemalto, a leading provider of digital security solutions based in Meudon, France, has collaborated with Visa, one of the world's largest payment providers, to equip visitors at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest with contactless payment wristbands. Gemalto's solution for Visa encompasses personalisation, packaging and fulfilment of the contactless wristbands, and utilises its Allynis Smart Event Platform for the prepaid payment programme and event management.
