Isorg and FlexEnable win industry award for first high-resolution flexible image sensor designed on plastic

Isorg (Grenoble, France), a pioneer in printed organic photodetectors and large-area image sensors, has announced that its first large-sized high-resolution (500dpi) flexible plastic fingerprint sensor, co-developed with FlexEnable (Cambridge, UK), won the 2017 Best of Sensors Expo – Silver Applications Award.

Eight19 secures £1.3M funding

The organic photovoltaic experts from Eight19 (Cambridge, UK) have announced that they have received a further £1.3M of investment. Lucros Investment (Netherlands) joined existing investors IP Group, Clarium and Providence in the round.  The new investment follows two years of continued improvement in OPV performance, advances in manufacturing readiness and an increased engagement with customers in the retail, FMCG and IoT sectors.

Optomec announces NASA Award for adaptive laser sintering system

Optomec (Albuquerque, New Mexico), a leading global supplier of production-grade additive manufacturing systems for 3D printed electronics and metals, recently announced that the company was awarded a NASA SIR contract for the further development of an adaptive laser sintering system (ALSS). The success of this endeavour will enable electronic circuitry to be printed onto a wider variety of temperature sensitive substrates expanding its use for production applications.  The fully automated system will also enable printed circuitry to be repaired or manufactured with minimal human intervention paving the way for its use in long duration NASA space missions.
