LG Display, a world-leading innovator of display technologies, has recently announced that its 65-inch OLED TV panel earned the Product Carbon Footprint Certification from the Carbon Trust. With this achievement, the OLED panel maker aims to further solidify the company’s leadership in the industry.
Neotech AMT (Nuremberg, Germany) and the TAMS-group at the University of Hamburg have successfully implemented a camera-based monitoring system for additively manufactured objects with integrated electronics (Project: KAM EI). The project, funded by Central Innovation Programme for SMEs (ZIM) from the German Federal Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), started in September 2020. The Automated Quality Assurance (AQA) system has been developed to monitor the manufacturing processes online in the 5-axis manufacturing cell.
Lightweight, switchable and smart glass technologies can significantly improve the energy management of buildings with large-area windows and glass facades and contributes to reducing energy consumption for heating or cooling. Improving the availability and cost efficiency of such smart glasses and the corresponding manufacturing processes is the declared goal of the EU-funded Switch2Save joint project. The project partners are now on the finish line and have installed the first electrochromic insulating glass units to demonstrate and test the potential energy savings in a Swedish office building.
