KONKA enters Micro LED pilot production with AIXTRON tools

AIXTRON SE (Herzogenrath, Germany), a leading provider of deposition equipment to the semiconductor industry, announced that KONKA Group Co., Ltd. has ordered multiple AIX G5+ C and AIX 2800G4-TM MOCVD systems to build its own volume production of GaN-based (gallium nitride) and AsP-based (arsenide-phosphide) Mini- and Micro LEDs. KONKA, which recently announced its plans to enter the North American consumer electronics market in 2020, established its Micro LED initiative as a joint venture with Chongqing Liangshan Industrial Investment Co. Most recently, the Chinese electronics manufacturer has launched its “Smart Wall” Micro LED TV.

Smart EEs2 call for integration of flexible and wearable electronics is now open

SmartEEs2 is an original European acceleration programme dedicated to helping innovative companies digitise their businesses thanks to flexible and wearable electronics (FWE) testing, experimentation and manufacturing support. The programme opened a call for application experiments on 6 March 2020 and set five cut – off dates between June 2020 and August 2021 for the evaluation and selection of submitted proposals. All interested companies, satisfying the criteria, are invited to submit their application experiment proposals.

OE-A Business Climate Survey: Printed electronics expects another year of growth

The signs are still set for growth in the organic and printed electronics industry. This is the clear message to result from the latest business climate survey conducted by the OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association), a working group within VDMA. 90 percent of the survey participants expect the industry to continue its positive development in the coming year. The worldwide crisis caused by Covid-19 will however not leave companies unaffected.
