LG Electronics has signed a memorandum of understanding with ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems, a global leader of automated pedestrian, industrial and residential doors and service, for the development of transparent OLED automatic doors. The innovative, first-of-its-kind customer experience solution has been designed with specialized commercial applications in mind.
RFID technology has been gaining traction in the healthcare sector, but standardised tools for tracking medications, devices and consumables are lacking. DoseID, a US consortium and the first industry association dedicated to standardising the use of RFID tags in healthcare, was established for the purpose of introducing an industry-wide standard. Schreiner MediPharm (Oberschleißheim, Germany) has joined this alliance of leading players in the healthcare sector.
In late 2019, Heliatek was announced as one of three winners of the “Japan Energy Challenge 2019”, a competition hosted by Japanese SMAP Energy who drives to identify key technologies for the energy transition of Japan. Now, one year later, Heliatek has realised its first project in Japan in cooperation with Looop Inc. and Ritsumeikan University. The installation was realised on a bus stop of the Biwako-Kusatsu Campus of the University in the Shiga Prefecture (near Kyoto). HeliaSol (prototype) solar films were glued on flat and round shaped metal substructures, which were then mounted on the rooftop of the bus stop.
