Oxford PV leads consortium to prepare perovskite solar cells for high volume manufacturing

Oxford PV, a leader in the field of perovskite solar cells, announced a new consortium to further demonstrate the manufacturability of perovskite-silicon tandem solar cells. The project has received €2.8M from the German Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy as part of its wider investment programme into renewable energy development. The consortium led by Oxford PV additionally comprises VON ARDENNE GmbH, Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin, Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems, and the Technical University of Berlin.

VTT’s robot car “Martti” now “speaks 5G”

The VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and Nokia have joined forces to hook VTT's robot car, Martti, up to a 5G network, which allows the car to detect objects with improved range and share its observations with other vehicles. This also takes Martti a step closer to highly automated driving. The safety of road users also improves as new solutions and services based on 5G technology become more widely available.

JOLED, Panasonic and SCREEN Finetech Solutions cooperate in printed OLED displays for TV use

JOLED Inc. (Tokyo, Japan), which develops and manufactures OLED displays, Panasonic Production Engineering Co., Ltd. (Osaka, Japan), a developer and designer of production equipment, and SCREEN Finetech Solutions Co., Ltd. (Kyoto, Japan), a supplier of various types of equipment used in display manufacturing processes, have concluded a business cooperation agreement. The contract relates to the development, manufacture, sales and service of printing equipment for the manufacture of large-sized printed OLED displays, intended mainly for use in TVs.
