Henkel and LAIIER partner to drive smart building applications based on printed electronics

Henkel (Düsseldorf, Germany) and LAIIER (London, UK) have announced a partnership to scale novel printed electronics solutions for smart building applications. Jointly the companies aim to drive the implementation of LAIIER´s Severn Water Leak Detector for commercial and industrial buildings and to combine their unique technology and innovation capabilities to further develop the solution. The novel sensor system solution aims to detect water leakages in buildings at a much earlier stage to minimise the high repair costs resulting from a water leak.

Bavarian Innovation Award for Schreiner Group

Schreiner Group (Oberschleißheim, Germany) received the special jury prize at the Bavarian Innovation Award for an outstanding innovative and technologically complex product development. Dr Ulrike Wolf, ministerial director at the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, presented the prestigious award for the medical product "Coldplasmapatch", also known as CPTpatch. This is a high-tech pad for the treatment of wounds that is based on printed electronics. It generates cold plasma that kills multi-resistant bacteria, promotes cell regeneration and can thus heal chronic wounds – even if they were previously considered incurable. Schreiner Group realised the innovative product together with the medical technology company Coldplasmatech.
