Imec and NeuroGyn AG collaborate on advanced neurostimulation device

Imec (Leuven, Belgium), a leading research and innovation centre in nanoelectronics and digital technologies, announces a collaboration to develop a next-generation implantable device for peripheral nerve stimulation together with NeuroGyn AG, a Swiss medtech company specialised in neurostimulaton and surgical solutions for pelvic nerve disorders. Leveraging the expertise of imec The Netherlands at Holst Centre with respect to ultra-low power wireless communication and powering, the new solution aims at prolonging the lifetime of the device while lowering its cost, making it suitable at the point of need. Clinical validation is planned after the development phase.

Fraunhofer IAP: Counterfeit-proof and unique identification shows authenticity of products

Counterfeit-proof product protection and resilient supply chains are the goals of the Fraunhofer SmartID project. The Fraunhofer Institutes for Applied Polymer Research IAP, for Secure Information Technology SIT and for Open Communication Systems FOKUS are developing a novel marking system that can determine the authenticity of products via smart devices even while being offline, i.e. without access to a database. SmartID will be embedded in existing track & trace infrastructures and can be printed on products or their packaging using commercially available printing processes.

TactoTek secures €22M grant and loan funding, €15M from European Guarantee Fund

TactoTek (Oulu, Finland), the developer and licenser of injection moulded structural electronics (IMSE) technology, has received up to €15M in financing from the European Guarantee Fund (EGF). It is the first company to receive an EGF investment. TactoTek engaged the Grannenfelt Finance to support investment application and processing.
