The new addition to the Optomec LENS Machine Tool Series has a larger build volume and supports higher laser power, providing more capabilities for affordable, high-quality metal hybrid manufacturing.
Osram Opto Semiconductors (Munich, Germany) and Joyson Safety Systems (Auburn Hills, Michigan) are equipping the new Cadillac CT6 with an innovative system for semi-autonomous driving. ‘Super Cruise’ is the industry’s first true hands-free driving technology for the highway. Osram’s infrared and LED components, which are embedded in Joyson Safety Systems’ steering wheel for the Cadillac CT6, allow the system to monitor driver attentiveness by tracking his or her head position to ensure drivers are watching the road ahead while ‘Super Cruise’ is engaged.
Organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) are mainly known from televisions and smartphone displays. They can be used as lighting objects in car tail lights or lights. The Fraunhofer Institute for Organic Electronics, Electron Beam and Plasma Technology FEP (Dresden, Germany) as a partner for customer-specific OLED development and production is now presenting OLED elements that can be integrated into textiles at the Electronics System Integration Technology Conference ESTC 2018 from 18 – 21 September 2018 in Dresden.
