Touch Taiwan Display International, jointly organised by Taiwan Display Union Association (TDUA) and Chan Chao International Co., Ltd., will enter its 7th edition as Taiwan’s smart display fair in 2018. This year, Touch Taiwan and OPTO Taiwan will run in tandem on 29-31 August on the fourth floor of Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. Smart Manufacturing & Monitech Taiwan will also be held simultaneously, gathering common forces of Taiwan businesses to make the robust technological prowess and supply chain capabilities of the country’s display, optoelectronics, semiconductor and smart manufacturing sectors more visible to the world and create the most influential international display industry event.
Onera, a spin-off from imec and Holst Centre, announced the successful closure of a seed round of financing enabling the company to develop a wearable, fully disposable, medically graded sleep diagnostic device. The startup's mission is to bring gold standard sleep diagnostics from the sleep lab to the comfort of the patient's home. The seed investment is secured by imec's venturing programme imec.xpand and the Dutch development agency Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschapij (BOM).
The VTT Technichal Research Centre of Finland has appointed Kari Mäki as research professor in smart energy systems. Mäki has worked with energy systems at VTT since 2010. Before that, he held various positions in industry and at the Tampere University of Technology.
