New OLED alliance established in Taiwan

 

The Taiwanese Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), a nonprofit research and development organisation working in applied research and technical services, has initiated a new forum to jointly advance the countries OLED technology named Organic Light-emitting Diode Lighting Commercialization Alliance (OLCA).

As ITRI recently announced major OLED companies including RiTdisplay Corp., WiseChip Semiconductor Inc, Merck, Corning Incorporated and Tongtai Machine & Tool CO. have already joined the alliance. More than 60 additional companies are said to have shown interest in collaborating with OLCA.

According to CT Liu, OLCA chairman and vice president and general director of the Electronics and Optoelectronics Research Laboratories at ITRI, OCLA has organised five committees named lamps, lighting design, materials, fixtures and optical engines.
