Inuru's OLED technology used in new Engelbert Strauss backpack
Engelbert Strauss, the leading German workwear company, has released a new backpack equipped with Inuru's OLED (Organic LED) technology that lights up. This backpack is the first of its kind to use OLED technology for lighting.
The backpack is designed to improve safety for workers during commutes, road visibility for cyclists, outdoor enthusiasts, and children. The integrated OLED provides high visibility not only in low light conditions but also during daylight hours, ensuring continuous safety throughout the day. Unlike other OLED products from Inuru, this backpack contains a fully reusable solution that can be powered multiple times via a USB-C connection. The solution is also washable, ensuring a normal product lifecycle.
"This release is a key development for Inuru's ELF (Embeddable Light Film) technology. We have proven that our OLED solution is durable enough for use in everyday products. Plus, the integration of OLED lighting into fabrics happened with one manufacturing step only. This sets us apart from other electronics solutions," says Marcin Ratajczak, CEO at Inuru.
The cooperation between Strauss and Inuru marks an important technological milestone for Inuru. This time Inuru is not responsible for the final product integration, but only supplied the ELFs to Strauss. Inuru's technology was then integrated into the backpack during production at Engelbert Strauss' facilities, marking a significant first step into the apparel market.
