InnovationLab wins OE-A Competition in the category “Prototypes and New Products”

InnovationLab (Heidelberg, Germany), an expert in printed electronics based on the "From Lab to Fab" concept, has been named the winner in the "Prototypes and New Products" category of the 2021 OE-A Competition by the Organic and Printed Electronics Association (OE-A).

The winning product is Bausch's OccluSense, a dental pressure measurement system. OccluSense is the first digital articulator to measure occlusion (how a person's teeth touch) with medical certification (Class 1).

The compact, battery-powered device consists of a disposable printed sensor mat and a reusable readout unit. The printed pressure sensor matrix allows monitoring of biting pressure distribution with more than 1000 pixels read out at a frequency of up to 150Hz. OccluSense then sends the information wirelessly to a cloud, tablet or similar. The product has already been sold in over 60 countries.

"It is quite special for us to be recognised by the globally renowned organic and printed electronics association OE-A, and we are delighted that they have chosen Occlusense for this award," said Luat Nguyen, managing director of InnovationLab.

Companies and institutes from 13 countries submitted their latest products and demos in the field of organic and printed electronics. An international jury of experts selected the winners in the three categories.

All submitted products and demos were presented at LOPEC, the international platform for printed electronics, which took place online this year from 23 to 25 March 2021. The virtual award ceremony will take place on 15 April.
