On 11. Mai 2012 the 3D-Micromac AG, a German company specialised in the production of laser micromachining workstations for industry, research, and science, celebrated the 10th anniversary of the company with a number of presentations and an official ceremony. Among the guests were Prof Dr Sabine Schorlemerm, Saxony's State Minister for Arts and Sciences, and Prof Dr Ulrich Buller, member of the board of directors of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft.
Another part of the event was the inauguration of the new microFlex-Center. In this new building 3D-Micromac and the Fraunhofer Institute for Electronic Nano Systems ENAS will cooperate in the further development of micro technologies on flexible substrates. Further topics like laser machining of rigid polymers, especially lab-on-a-chip systems for point-of-care diagnostics, and the reliability of memory modules in e-mobility will also be on the agenda of the microFLEX-Center.
