Heliatek: Winner of OE-A Competition in the category “Best Publicly Funded Project Demonstrator”
Heliatek (Dresden, Germany) has won the 2020 OE-A competition in the category: “Best Publicly Funded Project Demonstrator”. The award honours an innovative integration solution for façades using Heliatek’s organic solar films. A record of more than 20 applications from international companies were submitted and the OE-A selected the organic solar pioneer as one of three winners. This year’s competition was digital due to the cancelation of the LOPEC trade fair, the host event where the winners are usually being awarded.
OE-A managing director Dr Klaus Hecker underlines the importance of the competition by saying: “The OE-A Competition motivates companies to think outside the box. This provides new impulses for the technological development of printed electronics as well as product design and shows users which products and concepts are in the pipeline.”
Guido van Tartwijk, CEO of Heliatek states further: “We are thrilled by this award. It shows the great potential of organic solar technology for integrations solutions that enable totally new applications for solar power generation in building structures.”
Heliatek and Laukien jointly developed this solution, which was funded by the Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy of Germany within the project “ILEM-PV-Fassade”.
