COLANDIS celebrates 25th anniversary
This May COLANDIS GmbH (Kahla, Germany) celebrates its 25th anniversary. On this occasion, the company would like to express its sincere thanks to all partners and friends who have been supportive within these 25 years.
COLANDIS GmbH is a renowned contact and consultant in clean room technology developing and manufacturing clean environments for different processes. From cabins to clean air workstations and minienvironments to equipment enclosures, there is a suitable solution for every requirement. COLANDIS also offers a comprehensive range of services. You can have your machines checked for use in a clean environment, or have your clean environment measured and classified. The company from Thuringia will also clean assemblies and machines and pack them professionally for use in a clean environment.
COLANDIS is actively involved in shaping the general conditions across all industries and has been represented in different committees and bodies for many years. Especially in the VDI – Association of German Engineers – and the VDMA – German Engineering Federation – the company contributes its expertise and experience on a national level. In the Standards Committee of SEMI – Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International – they also exert an international influence on globally applicable guidelines in the semiconductor industry.
For years, COLANDIS have successfully participated in various competitions, such as "Entrepreneur in Responsibility". The company have been nominated for the "Großer Preis des Mittelstandes" for several years and won the award in 2018.
COLANDIS originated from "Cleanroom Technology Jena", which was founded on 1 May 1996. Initially, the company premises were limited to a 40m2 office space and a 40m² garage in Kahla. In the following years the company was represented at numerous trade fairs, such as Cleanzone, elmug4future, Precision Fair, Productronica, SEMICON Europa and SEMIEXPO Russia. Because of the company’s growing knowledge about minienvironments, well-known and large companies became aware of it. Due to the cooperation with machine builders for the semiconductor industry, it can be assumed that minienvironments and components for them can be found in every semiconductor factory worldwide.
From 1998 - 2003 "Cleanroom Technology Jena" was moved to Winzergasse in Jena, where approx. 300m² were available as company space. However, it quickly became clear that even this space was very limited and they decided to open up a new location in Kahla on 1 April 2003. The fully air-conditioned building achieves at least an ISO 8 air purity class in the production area. In addition to its CO₂ cleaning cabinet and ISO 5 cleaning laboratory, the company further has an ISO 5 and ISO 1 clean room. The ISO 1 clean room is primarily used for cleanliness suitability tests and equipment measurements.
From an idea based on a 14m² office with a small workbench as a one-man show, the company COLANDIS with over 30 employees and an office and production area of over 2000m² has emerged. Since 2016, the succession has also been secured in the family-run company. COLANDIS will continue to live its vision of supporting customers with their ideas and projects in the years to come.
