TactoTek to supply IMSE solution for Suunto Movesense smart connector

The Finnish sports watch and measuring instrument company Suunto recently announced that TactoTek has been awarded the mass production contract for the Suunto Movesense Smart connector, an injection moulded structural electronics (IMSE) solution that is part of the Suunto Movesense platform. TactoTek will manufacture the smart connector in its Oulu, Finland factory.

American-based E Ink Holdings, a leading innovator of electronic ink technology and German LTS Lohmann-Therapie Systeme AG, leading in the development and manufacturing of transdermal therapeutic systems, announced their partnership to develop a “Smart Patch” prototype. The Smart Patch prototype is a transdermal therapeutic system (TTS) which delivers medication to patients in a convenient, controlled and comfortable manner and features an E Ink display to deliver and to convey relevant information about patch performance.

CPI’s new project to bring a world-class medicines smart packaging capability to the UK

The Centre for Process Innovation (CPI), the UK’s technology innovation provider for process manufacturing, announced that it has begun the first phase of its ‘Medicines Smart Packaging’ project. This phase of the North East Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) funded project, known as SmartMed, will begin the process of crystallising the needs for innovation in the smart packaging of medicines and medical devices leading to the creation of an innovation capability.
